Stabismus Treatment at Medical Eye Associates
Stabismus is a condition in which the eyes are not properly aligned with each other. It typically involves a lack of coordination between the extraocular muscles, which prevents bringing the gaze of each eye to the same point in space and preventing proper binocular vision, which may adversely affect depth perception.
Some adults diagnosed with strabismus – misalignment of the eyes – have had the condition since childhood. However, an adult maybe diagnosed with strabismus having no previous eye conditions or family history. Our doctors will review medical history and perform an examination to evaluate any existing or previous conditions related to this condition. Adult Strabismus is managed with a few options, including eye exercises, surgery and/or special eyeglass lenses.
